Hanlon Stevenson Foundation Named Charity Partner of RGFC 2024

Hanlon Stevenson Foundation has been named as our official charity partner for the upcoming Ron Gordon Football Challenge!

The second edition of the Ron Gordon Football Challenge is taking place on Saturday 22 June, with over 400 Hibees participating in the 15-hour football marathon as we look to raise funds for our Community Meals programme.

Hibernian Community Foundation would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the Hanlon Stevenson Foundation (HSF) for their generous donation of £2000 and for coming onboard as our official charity partner.

This substantial contribution is a testament to the charity’s unwavering commitment to supporting community initiatives and promoting positive change.

HSF was formed in 2019 with the initial funds being provided by donations from Hibernian F.C. legends Paul Hanlon and Lewis Stevenson as part of the proceeds from their respective Testimonial Years.

The purpose of the Hanlon Stevenson Foundation is primarily youth related with a view to assisting less privileged children and the charity have an incredibly strong relationship with Hibernian and our local community.

Without their generosity and willingness to support our initiatives, this event would not have been possible.

Head of Fundraising and Events, John Humphries, said:

“The Foundation have created a special bond with the charity and their continued support enables us to support our community.

“The Ron Gordon Football Challenge will be an excellent day filled with community spirit and it would not have been possible without this partnership.”

“We are happy to support this event and in turn HCF’s Community Meals programme.

“Over the past four years we have helped fund many projects relating to local community meals. After hearing the details of HCFs programme we were impressed and had no hesitation in making a donation.”

As preparations for the Ron Gordon Football Challenge 2024 get underway, Hibernian Community Foundation looks forward to working closely with Hanlon Stevenson Foundation to create an unforgettable event. This partnership is a shining example of how collective efforts can lead to significant community benefits.
