Hibernian Community Foundation Matchday 2026: Everything You Need to Know About Football Programmes at HCF

The Hibernian Community Foundation is the official charity of Hibernian Football Club: honouring the origins of the club by extending support to Leith and the wider Edinburgh community through impactful programmes and activities.

Ahead of this weekends’ Hibernian Community Foundation Matchday at Easter Road, there’s never been a better time for you to familiarise yourself with the footbal activities that HCF provides. Whether its school-aged children or those who still want to play their game past their physical prime, there are programmes for everyone who wants to play the game we love at the Hibernian Community Foundation.

Hibernian Community Club

The Hibernian Community Club is the community football club of Hibernian Football Club and HCF, representing Hibernian in grassroots football across Edinburgh.

Currently consisting of over 250 junior footballers and 50+ volunteer coaches across a vibrant junior, youth and adult programme, the Hibernian Community Club provides opportunities for footballers who just want to play the game they love.

To learn more, potentially find a new footballing home, or discuss potential sponsorship opportunities, contact HCF Head of Football Paul Grieg: [email protected].

The Hibernian Community Club is sponsored by a range of local businesses, including: Hibs.net, The Proclaimers, City Plumbing, The Garage Conversion Company, and Smith Design & Engineering Services.

Player Development Camps

A continuation of the ever-popular Hibs Heroes Camps, HCF’s Player Development Camps are the school-break home for the footballers of tomorrow. The recent February camps were held across two locations in Edinburgh and hosted more than 90 players over 5 days, while over 1,100 spots were offered and filled in 2025. The camps focus on improving attendees’ overall game, participation in skills and team challenges, and the hotly-contested tournaments and game formats daily.

We have recently launched our Easter Player Development Camps with 4 locations offered across Edinburgh and East Lothian for players aged 5-14years of age to attend.

For more information visit our social channels or contact Football Development Manager, Samantha Windram on [email protected]

Our recent camp held in February was sponsored by The Hibernian Matchday Programme.

Football Impact Projects (Community Participation)

HCF is passionate about offering footballing opportunities for everyone, regardless of their age, abilities or ambitions. We have various opportunities open to our communities to participate in the game from the ages of 3years old up to 70+.

Walking Football is one of the fastest growing sports across the country and we offer two exciting opportunities for those wanting to keep active, meet new people and stay socially engaged. Our Walking Football group doesn’t just play socially, members who wish to compete are welcome to join our Walking Football Teams at Over 50s and Over 65s while we also have an opportunity for those living with Parkinson’s to join our Parkinson’s Walking Football group.

All sessions take place weekly and for more information, click here to watch our recent video.

Hibernian Autism Football in partnership with Team United, provides football opportunities for children aged 10 to 16years old, diagnosed with autism to play football. The model is designed to make it easier for the players to enter the game without certain barriers at club level that may prevent ease of participation.

Adventures of Sunshine & Player Development Centres are participation-based programmes we offer at locations across Edinburgh & East Lothain. These sessions are designed to use the power of football to engage, inspire and provide a fun, safe and rewarding environment for young people to fall in love with football from 18months old to 14years of age.

Annually we partner with the Scottish FA and deliver various projects for children aged 5-14years of age from McDonald’s Fun Football Centres to Scottish Gas Holiday Camps to our Rail Safety Campaign with Network Rail. These projects allow us to increase our reach in the local community whilst also provide free / accessible football opportunities to keep young people active and socially connected.

Team United Autism Football and Parkinson’s Walking Football are generously suppoted by The Hibernian Matchday Programme.
