Hibernian Community Foundation Matchday 2026: Thank You For Your Support

This past Saturday Easter Road played host to the 2025/26 Hibernian Community Foundation Matchday: celebrating all the great services provided by the official charity of Hibernian Football Club.

The day kicked off with the Hibernian Community Choir performing on both Albion Place and the East Stand Concourse, delighting match-goers with a range of Hibs’ classics as well as a few up-beat numbers.

As fans piled into the stadium Happy Hibee tickets were being sold in high numbers as the promise of a £2,000 jackpot enticed potential winners, while generous supporters donated to bucket collectors surrounding Easter Road.

“We get to do this once a year to show fans what The Foundation is about, raise awareness about the activities we do, and celebrate some of the groups that will be on show,” HCF Interim CEO Ann Brown told Cliff Pike on Hibs TV pre-match.

One such group that was on display on the day was HCF’s Parkinson’s Walking Football who took to Easter Road’s pitch for a pre-match pitch walk. There was also an appearance from David Thompson from HCF’s Hibs SOS Men’s Mental Health Support Group in hospitality pre-match discussing how the group supports Hibs’ fans looking for guidance.

As things started to heat-up closer to kick-off, Hibs’ players could be seen warming up in the striking purple of HCF adorned with the matching logo. HCF Walking Football Participant and Parkinson’s Walking Football Volunteer Neil Westwod then delivered the match-ball before both teams were welcomed to the pitch by flag-bearers from Team United Autism Football.

At half-time, to compliment the fanfare of a near-record Happy Hibee Draw, players from the Hibernian Community Club took centre-stage as 2017s and 2018s competed in 3v3s and 4v4s: culminating in an unforgettable experience for the footballers of tomorrow.

In amongst all the events of the day, over £4,000 was raised for our community activities and programmes, supporting the community surrounding Easter Road and wider Edinburgh.

HCF would like to thank all that came to support on Saturday, particularly those who donated their time and money to extend support to our services.
