Hibernian Community Foundation make their mark on Kiltwalk 2024!
Once again the foundation took part in the Edinburgh Kiltwalk, the sea of green and white was a sight to behold as the Hibees marched through the city, with over 280 Hibs fans walking alongside Hibernian first team players and staff. This year a whopping £16,000 was raised! The foundation is extremely grateful to everyone that took part, taking the time to fundraise as much as possible in the lead up to this year’s event.
The funds raised will be used to support our Football for All project and our Community Football Academy. These programmes are staples of the Foundation’s work which give people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to partake in professionally organised football, from toddlers through to walking football, para football, and football for those with neurodivergent issues. Through the incredible work of our academy coaches, these sessions help to establish progressive player pathways, and provide opportunities for education and development of young people in our surrounding communities.
In addition, the foundation has allocated some of the funds to its community impact projects, such as community meals, supporting the integration of New Scots into our local community and mental health support.
Funds raised through this year’s Kiltwalk will enable us to subsidise the costs of these programmes, keeping the academy accessible and providing opportunities and support for our local community.
