Hibernian Community Foundation Welcomes Mel Jackson as Finance and Business Support Manager

Hibernian Community Foundation is delighted to welcome Mel Jackson to Easter Road as the new Finance and Business Support Manager.

Mel brings a varied background in business management, with over a decade of experience across sectors including finance, administration and HR. With a strong track record in managing financial systems, streamlining operations, and delivering strategic business support, Mel is exceptionally well placed to help drive HCF’s work forward.

Most recently working with CodeBase as Operations Coordinator, Mel was involved in managing contracts and invoices, developing HR policies and providing wide-ranging business support. This work, combined with administrative volunteering for a local charity and expertise in Board Support and Compliance, places Mel in good stead to succeed with HCF.

In her new role Mel will work closely with the HCF Board and Chair, and heads of departments to support the management of all finance and business support activities. Her responsibilities play a key role in ensuring HCF’s operations run smoothly. Mel is passionate about using her experience to make a positive impact for all HCF team members and the wider Hibernian Community.

“I’m motivated by people and community,” said Mel upon beginning with HCF.

“I want to be part of a group where I can contribute to support other people.”

A natural born problem solver, Mel has found a fit with HCF as she looks to work across both community football and outreach programs to ensure efficiency in all areas.

“I really like to have a lot of different problems to solve. The rest of the team are doing the work of the foundation, my job is to help them do that and take away any needless stress and friction. I like having different roles to fulfil that help the wider group”

Upon Mel joining HCF, Chairman Steve Smith noted how Mel’s drive to make things easier for those around her will only serve both her and HCF well for the future.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Mel to the team. Her experience speaks for itself, someone with Mel’s skills and approach in this key role will be a huge asset,” added Steve.

A local to Easter Road, living within a stones’ throw of the Community Hub and a long-term admirer of HCF’s work, Mel is excited to get started and play a role in making a difference in the Hibernian Community.
