Hibernian’s club store outshines competition with highest donation rate two months running!
Hibernian Community Foundation has scored a tremendous victory off the pitch, with the club store raising the highest percentage of donations per customer in the UK, thanks to a pioneering partnership with micro-donation charity, Pennies. This achievement highlights the generosity and community spirit of Hibs supporters and the club store team, as they’ve rallied behind the initiative to make a real difference with every purchase.
At the beginning of the partnership Pennies CEO Alison Hutchison CBE commented:
“We are really pleased to welcome Hibernian Community Foundation to the Pennies’ micro-donation family and know that customers will be generous and appreciate being asked to contribute a few pennies to such a fantastic cause”
She certainly wasn’t wrong as Hibs fans have consistently opted to round up their in-store purchases, with Pennies making it easy to donate a few extra pence to support charitable causes. The collective effort has propelled Hibs to the top of the leaderboard for two consecutive months, outshining other UK Fanatic clubs such as Everton by generating the highest donation percentage per customer.
Thanks to this initiative, over 1,000 micro-donations have been collected, supporting Hibernian Community Foundation’s local community projects and initiatives. With Hibernian FC leading the way, the partnership with Pennies continues to demonstrate how football can inspire collective generosity for the greater good.
