The Ron Gordon Football Challenge 2024 was an overwhelming success with over 400 participants raising funds for our Community Meals programme!
The Ron Gordon Football Challenge 2024 was a monumental success, showcasing the power of sports in fostering community spirit as funds were raised for our Community Meals programme directly from Hibernian Training Centre.
Over 400 members of our community participated in the 15-hour long football match which saw the Purple Team come out as narrow winners over the Green Team with a score-line of 100 – 94.
There was plenty of goals and smiles on faces throughout the day as Hibernian First Team players and Coaching Staff interacted with fans and kids enjoyed the activities that were made available by Pitch Parade UK.
This annual event, held in honour of our late Chairman Ronald J. Gordon, a passionate supporter of youth football and community engagement, has grown to become a cornerstone of the Foundation’s outreach efforts. The donation link will remain open until Saturday 20 July.

The community’s response was overwhelmingly positive, and we would like to thank our participants, fundraisers and volunteers for coming together to support the event and helping with logistics, ensuring the smooth running of the day. The sense of community pride was palpable, reinforcing the idea that football can bring people together in meaningful ways.
We would also like to thank our sponsors, the Hanlon Stevenson Foundation and The Hibernian Match Programme. Without their continued support this event would not have been possible.
Head of Fundraising and Events, John Humphries, said:
