The Hibernian Christmas Appeal, supported by Utilita Giving, will see 500 members of our community being fed on Christmas Day.
The Christmas period is a time for togetherness and celebration. It is a time for friends and family, good food and even better spirits. We open the doors of Easter Road to our community each year, bringing cheer and warmth to members of the community when it is needed most, and we provide over 500 meals on Christmas Day.
Providing Christmas Lunch for the local community has been a long-standing tradition of Hibernian Community Foundation. In addition to Christmas Day, we will be maintaining our regular service, offering free lunch on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to anyone who is struggling with bills or could benefit from a good old natter in a warm, comfortable space.
Through the Christmas Appeal we –
- Feed 500 people in need from Easter Road on Christmas Day.
- Offer additional take-home food baskets.
- Give out toys for kids, to families who are struggling financially.
- Offer a safe and warm space to all.
- Provide warm jackets and additional items of clothing to anyone who needs them.
- Offer those who are struggling financially or with social isolation the opportunity to sit down and enjoy Christmas with others
Nominations
2023 has been an incredibly tough year as a result of the cost-of-living crisis. If you, or someone you know would like to join us at Easter Road Stadium on Christmas Day, please CLICK HERE to fill out the nomination form and send directly to Lewis Melee using [email protected]
We will also be running a home delivery service for Christmas meals, for those unable to make it to the stadium on Christmas Day. Our home delivery service is available within a 5km radius of Easter Road.
Please note that the deadline for nominations is the 18th of December.
We are determined to maintain our services to the community this year, but need your help to do so. There are a number of ways you can help out during our Christmas Appeal:
- Help us in raising much needed funds – donate directly or take part in our Silent Auction.
- Volunteer with us on Christmas Day.
- Donate to our food and toy collections.
Silent Auction
Our Silent Auction will take place from the 1st to the 15th of December. It is a fantastic way to find a unique Christmas gift for a loved one. With everything from once-in-a-lifetime experiences, to great getaways and unique stocking fillers; there’s something for everyone. All proceeds from our Silent Auction go directly towards helping people in our local community, through funding our Christmas Appeal and winter lunch provision. By participating in our Silent Auction, you’re not just securing fantastic items for yourself – you’re helping to create a brighter Christmas for those within our community.
Taking part in our Silent Auction is simple:
- Head to https://uk.givergy.com/HibernianChristmasAppeal
- Check out our amazing prizes we have on offer.
- Bid on any prizes that interest you.
If you have any issues accessing our Silent Auction, please contact John Humphries, [email protected]
Donations
Please also consider donating directly to our Christmas Appeal. As with our Silent Auction, all donations will go directly towards funding our Christmas Appeal. You can donate directly on our website by clicking the yellow “Donate” button at the top of the page. Alernatively, you can donate directly on our Silent Auction website above.
If you would like to provide us with continued support, please consider setting up recurring donations to our Charity. We aim to increase our lunch provision to 5 days by the end of 2024. Recurring donations, no matter how small, are the best way you can help us to help our community.
Volunteer
Are you interested in giving us a hand on Christmas Day? Volunteering at our Christmas Appeal is one of the most rewarding experiences that you can have. We are currently seeking volunteers to help with food prep, food deliveries, serving food and table hosts (2–3-hour commitment on Christmas Day).
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Lewis Melee, [email protected]
