More Information

In his lifelong time supporting the team he became involved with the Hibernian Supporters Association (the Hibs Club), including becoming the Association Treasurer and eventually Honorary President. He was also voted onto the Board of the Football Club as a non-exec director, undertaking the role as fans rep’, elected by his fellow fans. When Frank died in April 2023, the family decided to take a collection in dedication of his memory, and it was agreed that the money raised should go to the Hibernian Community Foundation. Frank was proud that his great-grandfather was a member of the St Pat’s congregation back in the late 19th century at the time when Hibernian Football Club was founded by the parishioners of that parish. The original aim was to help the young men of the area, they not only allowed them to stay out of trouble but to get on in life. The newly formed football club along with the parish also raised money for many charities that were in need at that time. It is only fitting that a small legacy of Frank’s memory should be used to carry on that good work, via the Community Foundation. The foundation continues on with many of the same aims as those parishioners had when they started the football club nearly 150 years ago.
