After studying at Edinburgh University Alastair began his career at Wood McKenzie in Edinburgh, he then travelled the world with stints in London, Hong Kong and Australia building a successful banking career which culminated as Global head of Equity Sales at ABN Amro. He retired to the Scottish Borders ten years ago and helped a number of local charities before becoming involved with the Foundation in 2022. Alastair actively works with the team in the areas of excellence and performance measurement and is looking at how we can leverage best practice from other Foundations. As well as following Hibs, Alastair is an avid Arsenal fan and when not watching footie he spends his time golfing, travelling and skiing.
Jan studied law at Edinburgh after which she joined RBS on their graduate programme. A successful career followed and after various roles including Head of Investor relations and Director Secretariat she is now Company Secretary and Chief Governance Officer for NatWest Group. Her career has never been dull and she has played key roles in navigating the Bank’s response to its many challenges. Jan became involved with the Foundation in 2022 and has helped restructure the Board and ensure that it is best positioned to help the foundation deliver its strategic plans. Jan’s passion for football has been stirred and she is now an avid Hibs follower. When not focused on work Jan loves eating out, entertaining and travels extensively.
After graduating from Edinburgh University Grahame joined the NHS and has had a 35 year career moving through various roles. He currently holds the role of Innovation Champion and provides senior leadership oversight to ensure the delivery of a successful innovation programme both within NHS Lothian and in the East Region Health & Social Care Test Bed. Graham joined the Foundation’s board in 2016 and has played an integral role in helping the Foundation work closely with the NHS and other government bodies. Grahame is an avid Hibee and loves being able to combine his passion for the Club with helping our Community.
Kit Gordon studied at Georgetown University in Washington DC and after graduating Kit had a successful 10 year career as a Retail Buyer. After having two sons Kit focused on her family, a family owned residential home rental business. Kit’s charitable work included supporting Many Hands and being an interpreter for the Arlington Free Clinic. In 2019 Ron and Kit Gordon bought Hibernia FC. Since then Kit has been a friend of the Community Foundation and joined the Board in 2022. She is principally involved in helping the Club and the Foundation work in harmony. Kit believes in being an active member of her community and she and Ron always believed that a successful sports club is made up of three things; a winning team, a sound commercial business and the positive impact the Club makes on its community.
Ben studied at De Montfort University before beginning his career in Football. His first role was at Arsenal in the commercial team and he then progressed through Charlton Athletic, moving to Norwich where he joined as Commercial Director then moved on to COO. Ben joined Hibs in August 2021 as Chief Executive and has been instrumental in professionalising the Club and driving its commercial revenues. Ben has been on the Foundation Board since 2021 and has championed the Club’s support of the Foundation, formally recognising it as the Official Charity of Hibernian FC. Ben’s relentless pursuit of success for the Club leaves little time for hobbies but his two young football mad sons make sure he finds time to kick a ball with them.
Kieran began his career with TSB where he spent a number of years in HR. He is currently Bikeability Coordinator in Midlothian and is Hibs through and through. Kieran has and continues to hold a number of roles with the Club, he is currently Support Liaison officer and was for a number of years the supporters representative on the Club’s Board. Kieran joined the Foundations Board in 2021 and provides a great connection between the Foundation and the fans. Kieran also works tirelessly with a number of other charities including Scottish Veterans Residences. When not working with Hibs in his various roles he spends time with his young children taking them to play football in our Community Academy.
David started his career at Celtic, where he came through the youth system and starred in a European victory against Barcelona. He then spent time at numerous Premier League clubs including Norwich, Cardiff, Hull City and QPR and joined the Hibs squad in May 2022. He made his full international debut for Scotland in 2004 going on to gain 47 caps. David played a key role in Scotland’s qualification for UEFA Euro 2020, as he made decisive saves in penalty shootouts against Israel and Serbia. David is currently studying for a Masters in Sports Directorship at Manchester and joined the Foundation Board in 2022. He plays a integral link between the Foundation and the players and has helped to build strong relationships between both. When not in goals David travels and is a keen golfer.
Following studied in Glasgow and a successful career in outsourcing in the UK & US, Mags founded Intelligent Office UK which grew to be the UK’s leading provider of admin services to the legal sector. Since then she has invested in and helped a number of tech startups grow and exit. Her charitable endeavours started with The Prince’s Trust which she chaired for a number of years and she became involved with our Foundation in 2021 taking over as Chair in March 2022. Mags was instrumental in welcoming the Dnipro Kids to Edinburgh and still works with them today through the Foundations work. When not helping drive the Foundation and her business interests forward Mags loves travel, socialising and of course watching Hibs.
After studying at Strathclyde University Daljit immediately entered the Third Sector and joined Children in need. His career has spanned many charitable organisations including Cancer Research, Foundation Scotland and the Prince’s Trust where he was Head of Private Sector Relationships in Scotland. Daljit them moved to SAMH and joined the Foundation as Executive Director in August 2022. He has led significant change in the Foundation and has built a strong team around him to take our work forward. Daljit is a long time season ticket holder and is living his dream buy continuing his work in the charitable sector but this time based in the stadium of his favourite football team. When not doing all things Hibs he cycles, manages his Airbnb portfolio and loves to travel.
