Ron Gordon Football Challenge Returns in 2024

Hibernian Football Club and the Hibernian Community Foundation is excited to announce the upcoming Ron Gordon Football Challenge event, to be held on Saturday June 22 at the Hibernian Training Centre!

The inaugural event last year was an overriding success bringing together the community and the Football Club and raising over £25,000 in the process.

This special event will bring together Hibs fans and football enthusiasts for a 15-hour non-stop game of football, featuring players from the club’s storied history alongside current squad members.

The marathon will kick off at 7am and continue until 10pm, welcoming players of all ages and abilities. This inclusive event not only aims to celebrate Hibs’ heritage but also encourages community involvement through football.

Named in honour of our late chairman, Ron Gordon, the footballing marathon will celebrate his lasting legacy and profound impact on the club and the broader community. Proceeds from the event will support local charitable initiatives, through the Hibernian Community Foundation, a cause close to Ron’s heart.

The day-long event promises a unique opportunity for fans to play alongside some of the most celebrated names in Hibernian’s history. Though the full roster of participating legends is still under wraps, the lineup will include familiar faces from both past and present squads, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

Chair of Hibernian Community Foundation, Steve Smith, commented:
