HCF Continue Preparations for Christmas Day Lunch for 500

Hibernian Community Foundation are putting in the final preparations to feed 500 on Christmas Day, supported by Utilita Giving with special thanks to The Ellen & Ian Graham Charitable Foundation.

We’re less than a week away from Christmas Day and we’re making the final preparations to deliver the 2023 Christmas Day Lunch for 500 from Easter Road Stadium.

The Foundation plans to feed 350 families from the hospitality suites in the West Stand and deliver over 170 food packages to families around the city!  None of this would be possible without the huge amount of support we’ve had from the Hibernian fans.  A staggering 120 people have responded to call for help, and every single person has offered to give up a few hours of their Christmas to help us feed over 500 people in need living in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Hibernian Head Coach Nick Montgomery and a numerous members of the First Team squad have also committed to help us on the day by serving meals, distributing presents to children and no doubt posing for the odd selfie or two!

Each donation will help us to provide meals on Christmas Day and will allow us to develop our weekly Lunch Clubs that is run from the Community Hub in the Famous Five Stand.

This year’s appeal got off to a tremendous start with fans generously bidding for prizes in our Silent Auction at the beginning of December.  A staggering £35,00 was raised!

We are also hugely indebted to The Ellen and Ian Graham Charitable Foundation, who on hearing of our plans to feed 500 families in need on Christmas Day, made an exceptional donation to support our work.

Our enormous thanks all extend to Utilita and Utilita Giving, who are long time supporters of the our work, and to The SPFL Trust’s ‘Festive Friends’ programme, which helps football clubs around Scotland support their local communities.
