Hibernian Community Foundation would like to thank Utilita Giving for their support of our 2023 Christmas Appeal!

Utilita Giving’s support throughout our 2023 Christmas Appeal allowed us to fulfil our goal of feeding 500 from Easter Road on Christmas Day.

Utilita Giving have provided us with continual support throughout 2023, with our incredibly successful Christmas Appeal capping off the year.

Utilita Giving (www.utilitagiving.org) is a charitable organisation that supports individuals, families and households who are experiencing fuel and food poverty across England, Scotland and Wales.  Without their generosity and care for those who are struggling with the cost-of-living crisis, many families would feel deserted over the Winter months.

John Humphries, Head of Fundraising & Events at Hibernian Community Foundation commented:

“We are delighted to work alongside Utilita Giving for our Christmas Appeal. As our Principal sponsor, Utilita Giving have provided us with the means to support many in our community who would otherwise struggle over the festive period. We would like to express a huge thank you to Keira and all at Utilita Giving for their ongoing partnership with Hibernian Community Foundation.

We would not be able to maintain our services to the local community without support from organisations such as Utilita Giving. With the cost-of-living crisis, their help is more important than ever.”

Thanks to Utilita Giving, Hibernian Community Foundation have been able to create a memorable Christmas for many in our community. Our Christmas Day lunch allowed us to feed 350 families from Easter Road Stadium, spreading Christmas spirit to those who needed it most. In order to ensure that all members of our community were able to enjoy a warm meal, we delivered over 150 meals to people in surrounding communities who struggled to make it to Easter Road Stadium.

Keira Meadus from Utilita Giving said:

“As John mentioned, support of this kind is more crucial than ever before as the cost-of-living crisis continues to bite.

“Thanks to the Foundation, we have been able to reach some of the most vulnerable people in the Edinburgh area.

“I’m absolutely thrilled that we could give these families a Christmas to remember.”
